Job Details
Name of Position: Veterinary Officer / Block Veterinary Officer
No of Posts: 71 (Seventy One)
Reservation wise post breakup: Open Category (37), OBC/MOBC (19), SC (5), STP (7), STH (3).
Salary and Benefits
Scale of Pay: Pay Band-4 (Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 1,10,000)
Benefits: Pay Scale plus Grade Pay of Rs. 12,700/- per month and other allowances as admissible to the Assam State government employee rules.
Essential Qualifications
Education Qualification: A candidate must have at least a Degree in Animal Husbandry & veterinary Science from any recognised university or Institution.
Age Limit: The candidates should not be less than 21 years
of age and not more than 38 years of age on 01st January, 2024. The Upper
age limit is relaxable by 5 years for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled
Tribe (ST), 3 years for OBC/MOBC and 10 years for PwBD candidates.

- Citizenship: Candidates must be an Indian citizen as defined in Article 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
- Domicile: Candidates must be a permanent resident of Assam. Candidates must submit a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) or Employment Exchange Certificate as a proof of residence.
- Caste Certificate: Candidates must submit a Caste certificate for seeking reservation as SC/ST/OBC/MOBC.
- Small Family Norms: Candidates have to submit a declaration of “The Small Family Norms” in prescribed Form-A at the time of applying for the post.
- Application Fees: a non-refunded application fees of Rs. 297.20/- for General, Rs. 197.20/- for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC and Rs. 47.20/- for BPL Holder or PwBD candidates shall need to be paid by the candidate through online mode only.

- Class-X/Class-XII Examination Admit Card / Pass certificate/ Mark sheet issued by Central/State Board clearly indicating date of birth in support of their claim of age.
- Certificate and Mark-sheets of all examinations from HSLC onward up to the level of qualifying examination.
- Degree/Diploma certificate along with mark-sheets pertaining to all the academic years as proof of educational qualification.
- Caste Certificate for candidate seeking reservation as SC/ST/OBC/MOBC.
- BPL certificate issued by Government of Assam. (if applicable)
