Job Details
Name of Posts
- Sub-Inspector (SI): 4 (four) posts
- Guardsman: 284 (two hundred eighty four) posts
- Driver: 17 (seventeen) posts
- Non Combatant Employee (NCE): 140 (one hundred forty) posts.
Salary and Benefits
- Sub-Inspector (SI): Level-9
- Guardsman: Level-3
- Driver: Level-3
- Non Combatant Employee (NCE): Level-1
Essential Qualifications
Education Qualification:
- Sub-Inspector (SI): Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in any stream from a recognised University.
- Guardsman: Class IX or its equivalent examination passed.
- Driver: Class-IX passed with valid HMV /LMV driving licence issued by the competent authority.
- Non Combatant Employee: Class V Passed.
Age Limit
- Sub-Inspector (SI): The candidates should not be less than 20 years of age and not more than 27 years of age on 15th March, 2024. The Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST.
- Guardsman & Driver: The candidates should not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 27 years of age on 15th March, 2024. The Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for candidates belonging to ST/SC.
- Non Combatant Employee (NCE): The candidates should not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 32 years of age on 15th March, 2024. The Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for candidates belonging to ST/SC.

Application Process
The process of the recruitment of Meghalaya govt jobs in CDHG is OFFLINE only. Candidates can collect and submit their application form from the offices of the district home guards commandant Shillong/ Jowai/ Tura, District Training Centers Nongstoin,/ Mawkyrwat, Nongpoh, Williamnagar, Resubelpara, Baghmara, Ampati, and Central Training Institute, CDHG, Mawdiangdiang, Shillong, on payment of Rs. 50/-.
List of documents to be submitted
- 3 (three) copies of recent passport size photographs, one of which is to be pasted in the Application Form.
- All Educational Qualification Certificates.
- Birth Certificate or Age Certificate as per school records.
- Scheduled Tribe / Schedule Caste Certificate / Domicile Certificate.
- Home Guards/ Civil Defence Training Certificates for candidates applying for the posts of Guardsman, drivers and NCE.
- A self-addressed stamped envelope (size 10 x 24 cm) along with Rs. 5/- postage should also accompany the application.

Physical Measurements Test (PMT)
Height
- Sub-Inspector (SI)
- Male (ST/SC/OST)- 157 cm and Male (Others)- 162 cm
- Female (ST/SC/OST)- 152 cm, Female (Others)- 157 cm
- Guardsman & Driver
- Male (ST/SC/OST)- 157 cm and Male (Others)- 162 cm
- Female (ST/SC/OST)- 150 cm, Female (Others)- 154 cm
- Non Combatant Employee (NCE)
- Male (ST/SC/OST)- 152.5 cm and Male (Others)- 158 cm
- Female (ST/SC/OST)- 149 cm, Female (Others)- 154 cm
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Male: Running 5 kilometers within 24 minutes.
- Female: Running 3 kilometers within 19 minutes.
Written Examination
Only those candidates who qualify in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be allowed to appear in the written examination.
Medical Examination
The medical examination will be conducted only in respect of candidates who have qualified in written examination.
Medical standards: Candidates must not have knocked knees, flat foot or squint eyed and they should not have bad eyesight, colour blindness, varicose vein or piles.
Other Terms & Conditions
- Candidates should be a citizen of India as defined in Article 5 to 8 in the Constitution of India.
- Candidates should be a permanent resident of the state of Meghalaya.
- Candidates should have undergone basic courses conducted by the Home Guards Organisation or any training conducted by CDHG. (candidates except by Sub-Inspector).
