Job Details
Name of Position: Computer Operator

Essential Qualifications
- Education Qualification: Higher Secondary / Class-XII or its equivalent examination passed from a Government recognised Board/Council.
- Experience: Candidate must have good working knowledge of office productivity software tools suc as Word processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation Graphics, Database, Internet, and e-mail etc. In this regard candidate have to produced a minimum 6 (six) months completed diploma/certificate in computer proficiency from a government recognised institution.
Salary and Benefits
- Scale of Pay: Pay Band-2 (Rs. 14,000/- to Rs. 60,500 per month.)
- Benefits: Pay Scale plus Grade pay of Rs. 6,200/- and other allowances as admissible to the Assam State Government employee rules.
Other Terms and Conditions
- Age Limit: The candidates should not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 40 years of age on 01st April, 2024. The Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for Scheduled Tribe (ST), 3 years for Other Backward Classes (OBC) and 10 years for PwBD candidates.
- Citizenship: Candidates must be an Indian citizen as defined in article 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
- Domicile: Candidate shall be a permanent resident of Assam. As a domicile proof, candidate should submit Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC)/ Employment Exchange Registration Certificate of Assam.
- Small Family Norms: Candidate have to submit a declaration regarding ‘The Small Family Norms’ in Form-A (Download Here) at the time of applying for the post.
- Language Proficiency: Candidate must have computing knowledge in Assamese and English Language.
- Processing Fees: A non refunded processing fees of Rs. 47.20/- for all category of candidates need to be paid as application fees.

Selection Process
The selection process will consist of 2 (two) phases:
#PHASE-I
Screening Test: There will be 100 marks of OMR based questions related to topics on General English (40), Computer Theory (40), and General Awareness (20).
#PHASE-II
Computer Practical Test: Against each vacancy 04 (four) candidates will be short listed on the basis of the marks obtained in the screening test. The short listed candidates shall have to appear in the Computer Proficiency Practical Test of 100 marks to be held centrally in Guwahati along with original testimonials.
