Military Nursing Service:SSC 2024 Form – NTA Examination Details

Bright futures for aspiring young women make a move and join the Armed Forces as Short Service Commissioned (SSC) Officer in the Military Nursing Service (MNS). Online applications are invited from female candidates who have passed MSc(Nursing) / PB BSc (Nursing) / BSc (Nursing) for grant a Short Service Commission in the Military Nursing Service.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has ready to conducting the examination for MNS Examination: Selection for Short Service Commission (SSC) for the year 2023-24.


The National Level Entrance Test for grant Short Service Commission (SSC) examination will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted by NTA. Interested female candidates who are Indian citizen can apply through online  before 26th December, 2023. The MNS Computer based Test (CBT) will conduct on 14th January, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria for Military Nursing Service: Short Service Commission (SSC) Examination 2023-24

Nationality -

The Candidate should be a citizen of India as per the Constitution of India.

Qualification and Registration -

Candidate should have passed M.Sc (Nursing) / PB B.Sc (Nursing) / B.Sc (Nursing) from INC recognised University and have a registration of Nurse and Midwife from a State Nursing Council.

Age Limit -

The age limit for the MNS Examination for 2023-24 year is between 21 and 35 years of age as on the date prescribed for the receipt of application. (Candidate must born between 25 December, 1988 and 26 December, 2002)

Physical Fitness -

Medical fitness will be assessed as per Military Standards by Military Authority.

Selection process of Military Nursing Service Examination for the year 2023-24

(a) Computer Based Examination -

Only eligible candidates will undergo Computer Based Examination (CBT) to be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on 14 January, 2024 at the selected Centers all over India. The CBE will consist of Multiple Choice Questions based on Nursing, English language and General Intelligence. There is no negative marking system. The qualifying mark of CBE is 50%. The candidates will be able to view their score card of CBE at National Testing Agency (NTA) official website nts.ac.in . The qualifying candidates are shortlisted for interview in order of merit list. Candidates can see the shortlisted merit list from Indian Army official website at joinindianarmy.nic.in and NTA website.

(b) Interview -

The qualified and merit candidates will be called for interview at Delhi. The process of interview and medical examination may take 3 to 5 days and accommodation will be individual’s responsibility.

(c) Medical Examination -

The physical fitness of selected candidates will be determined by a Medical Board under arrangement made by the office of Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS).

(d) Final Selection -

The required number of shortlisted candidates who are found medically fit in all aspects will be sent call letters to report to the various hospitals in Armed Forces.
