India Post invited online applications from meritorious sports persons who are citizen of India for the recruitment of Postal Assistant, Sorting Assistant, Postman, Mail Guard and Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) posts in different post office the department of Posts.

Interested candidates who fulfill eligibility conditions, such as, age, educational and other qualifications, etc. can apply online for the Group C posts in postal India.

The process of postal recruitment will be based on the guidelines issued by the Department of Personal and Training, Government of India as amplified from time to time till November 09, 2023.

Application Fees

Fee payable Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred)

  • for, women, transgender and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) are exempted from the payment of fee.
  • Application fee can be paid online through UPI, Net Banking, Credit/Debit Cards, etc.
  • Application fee should be paid by candidates before the closing date of application.
  • Candidates who are not exempted from payment of fee must ensure that fee payment.
    is successful. Such applications which remain incomplete due to non-payment of fee will be SUMMARILY REJECTED and no request for consideration of such applications and fee payment after the closing date shall be entertained. Therefore, candidates are advised to ensure successful payment of fee well in advance.

 Note: The closing date for online applications will be the crucial date for determining the age-limit.

Age Relaxation

Relaxation in upper age limit by five (5) years shall be allowed in each case. In addition, relaxation in upper age limit of five (5) years shall be allowed only to candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) in each case. Accordingly, total ten (10) years of age relaxation is allowed to candidates belonging to SC/ST only. Although additional age relaxation as mentioned above shall be provided to SC/ST candidates, no post shall be reserved for any category of candidates.

Educational Qualification

(a) for, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant:- Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University and have knowledge of working on Computer.

(b) for, Postman/ Mail Guard: - (i) Candidates should 12th standard pass from a recognized Board (ii) should have passed local language of the concerned Postal circle or division as one of the subject in 10th class or above. (iii) have knowledge in working in computer and (iv) a valid license of two-wheeler or light motor vehicle for the post of postman.

(c) for, Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): - the applicant must pass 10th standard from a recognized Board.

Who will consider as Meritorious Sportsperson for India post office vacancy?

A candidate shall be considered as meritorious sportsperson for the purpose of post office jobs under this notification with reference to following criteria -

(i) Sportspersons who have represented a State or the Country in the National or
International competition in any of the sports / games mentioned in para 7 of the official
notification (See Notification).

(ii) Sportspersons who have represented their university in the Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Board in any of the sports / games mentioned in para 7 of the official notification.

(iii) Sportspersons who have represented the State School teams in the National Sports / Games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation in any of the sports / games mentioned in para 7 of the official notification.

(iv) Sportspersons who have been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under
the National Physical Efficiency Drive.

How to fill India Post Recruitment 2023 Sports Quota?

The process of India post recruitment online apply mode is Online only. The candidates shall be submitted their application only in online mode at official website of India Post https://dopsportsrecruitment.cept.gov.in.

Before submitting the application, candidates must thoroughly review the notification to ensure they meet eligibility conditions for the intended post. It is crucial to provide accurate details in the online application. Applicants are advised to carefully read the 'Instructions to Candidates' on the online application portal.

Candidates must use the Preview/Print option before submitting the online application to ensure the accuracy of details filled in each field of the form.

A special correction window of five (05) days will be available after the closing date for online application submission for candidates to make necessary changes to their submitted application forms.

Selection Procedure of Post Office Recruitment 2023 Sports Quota

Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria and holding certificates as specified in para 8 from the competent authority (see official notification) are eligible for inclusion in the provisional merit list. Their inclusion will be based on their preferences for both Cadre and Postal Circle, up to the number of vacancies notified for each Cadre (Post).

Candidates will be considered for their first preferred cadre across all opted Postal Circles, followed by their second preferred cadre, and so forth. Candidates will not be considered for cadres/Postal Circles that they have not opted for.

The provisional merit list will be based solely on the information provided in the online application portal. No additional offline information will be considered before the preparation of the provisional merit list. Candidates should only provide details of their highest participation/achievement in sports. For instance, if a candidate has participated in both National and International events, they should submit details of all relevant international events with a valid Form-1, without detailing all other achievements.

The order of Preference mentioned in the official notification for preparation of Provisional Merit List

First Preference: Priority will be accorded to candidates who have represented the country in an INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION with clearance from the Department of Youth Affairs & Sports.

Second Preference: Following that, preference will be granted to individuals who have represented a State/U.T. in the SENIOR OR JUNIOR LEVEL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS organized by the National Sports Federation, recognized by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, or National Games organized by the Indian Olympics Association. Priority will be given to those who have achieved medals or positions up to 3rd place. In the case of candidates participating in both Senior and Junior National Championships/Games, preference will be given to those who have participated and won medals in Senior National Championships.

Third Preference: Subsequently, preference will be extended to individuals who have represented a University in an INTER-UNIVERSITY COMPETITION conducted by the Association of Indian Universities/Inter University Sports Board, securing medals or positions up to the 3rd place in the finals.

Fourth Preference: Following that, preference will be granted to individuals who have represented the State Schools in the NATIONAL SPORTS/GAMES FOR SCHOOLS conducted by the All-India School Games Federation, achieving medals or positions up to the 3rd place.

Fifth Preference: Subsequently, preference will be accorded to individuals who have received the National Award in Physical Efficiency under the National Physical Efficiency Drive.

Sixth Preference: Following that, preference will be granted to individuals who represented a State/Union Territory/University/State School teams at the levels mentioned in categories (ii) to (iv) but did not secure a medal or position, in the same order of preference.
