Intelligence Bureau Recruitment 2023 - Key Details
Job Title: Security Assistant / Motor Transport (SA/MT) & Multi-Tasking Staff/General (MTS/Gen).
Job Classification: General Central Service, (Group ‘C’) Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.
No of Posts: There are total 362 Posts for IB Security Assistant & 315 vacant posts for Multi Tasking Staff / General (MTS/Gen). (see official notification for SIB and vacancy reservation break-up details).
Pay Scale: Level-3 (Rs. 21,700 - 69,100) in the pay matrix plus admissible Central Govt. allowances.
Hiring Organization: Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
Job Location: The post involves All India Transfer liability. Therefore, the candidates willing to serve anywhere in India only need to apply.
Application Fess: The fess structure comprises two components: an Exam Fee of Rs. 50/- and Recruitment Processing Charges of Rs. 450/-, both of which are required. (See official notification for fess exemption details).
Eligibility Criteria for IB Recruitment MTS & Security Assistant
Essential Qualifications
- Matriculation (10th class pass) or equivalent from a recognized Board of Education, and
- Possession of domicile certificate of that State against which candidate has applied.
- Possession of valid driving license for Motor Cars (LMV) issued by the competent authority (Only for SA/MT Candidates)
- Knowledge of Motor Mechanism (The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in the vehicle), and
- Experience of driving a Motor Car for at least one year after obtaining valid driving license.
Desirable Qualification
Possession of valid driving license for Motorcycle issued by the competent authority.
Age Limit
- Security Assistant and Motor Transport candidates must be below 27 years of age as of the application closing date.
- Multi Tasking Staff / General Candidates must be between 18 to 25 years of age as of the application closing date.

IB Security Assistant & MTS Syllabus
Tier-1:- Online Exam of Objective type MCQs, divided into 4 parts containing 100 questions of 1 mark each on- General Awareness (40marks), Quantitative Aptitude (20marks), Numerical/Analytical/Logical ability & Reasoning (20marks) and English Language (20 marks).
Tier-2:- (only for SA/MT) Motor Mechanism & Driving test cum Interview (50 marks).
Tier-2:- (for MTS/Gen) Descriptive Test on English Language and Comprehension (50 marks).
